How long will it take for my deposit to arrive in my Carry account?

Edited

When you deposit money into Carry via your linked bank, it typically takes 1 to 3 business days to initially settle in your cash account.

You will know the cash is available to be invested by clicking into your 'Cash' section on the left hand side of the account page. When the funds are reflected as 'available to invest' you will be able to deploy your funds towards investments.

What you are planning to invest in will determine the timeline until your funds are available to invest. If you invest in Roboadvisor or Smart Yield for example from the same account you deposit funds to, the funds will be able to be invested typically 5-7 business days after the funds from the initial deposit settle as the funds need to move between accounts for these investment types in order to be invested.

If you are using a strategy such as Mega Backdoor Roth conversion or a Backdoor Roth IRA, the funds are moving between accounts and it will take longer for the cash to reflect as available to invest. You can refer to the transaction emails you receive for the approximate expected timelines. Once the funds from the initial deposit settle, it's typically another 5-10 business days until the funds will be ready to invest.

How to find your activity tab

Each account has its own Overview and Activity pages. To find the Activity tab, go to your Accounts page and select the account that you want to view the activity for.

Your Activity tab will show you the deposit amount, date, and account details. Once the funds are settled in your account, you will receive an email notification and the “pending” deposit will switch to completed.

Mega Backdoor Roth Conversion (Solo 401K account) + Backdoor Roth Conversions (Traditional IRA -> Roth IRA account)

If you are depositing funds to complete a Mega Backdoor Roth conversion in your Solo 401K or Backdoor Roth conversion in your IRA accounts, in addition to the settlement time, there is also a required 5 business day holding period in addition to the settlement time before the funds will be available to invest.
